Featured Interview With Christine E. McLean
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am 100% Jamaican. Born in the capital city, Kingston, I was always and quiet and focused child. My mother and I moved to the town of Mandeville when I was 3 years old. This is where I was raised and it is the place I truly call home. My home overlooks my community and is close to the third largest university on the island, the Northern Caribbean University. My main aim in life is to inspire others.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I am an only child so I had to find some amusement during my spare time. Besides creating an imaginary school when I was about nine years old, I started reading the Baby Sitter’s Club Series. I know that I must have read several other books before that since my mother encouraged me to read, but that is when I truly remember starting to read. I was enthralled by the story line and would get lost in my own world for hours reading.
I actually only recently began writing. My first self-help book was completed in April and it was published in May.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I actually have four favorite genres: suspense, mystery, romance, and self-help. There is none that I really prefer more than the other. Of all the self-help books I have read there are three that stand out: Unleashing Your Potential by Myles Munroe, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell, and Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Since these books are the ones that truly stand out to me, I would say these three authors inspire me the most. They truly caused me to view life differently and change my approach to aspects of my life.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The greatest things in life are produced during moments of strain and pressure. In order to truly transform your life, some pressure must be exerted. Becoming the Best You shows you how to apply pressure to key areas of your life and use that pressure to reap success. Get ready to be uncomfortable as you are challenged to change your life in significant ways.
