Featured Interview With Christina Maharaj
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am from Mississauga, Ontario. Been living here my whole life. I love to read (novels, manga, comic etc.), write, draw and play video games.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I originally started writing in the 10th grade. It was for a comic book. I kept writing, not really getting the artwork done. I’ve always loved to read. Drifted away from it a bit in high school, mostly reading manga, but still kept at it. Only started back with writing in recent couple of years. I plan to go back to my original comic/novel that I started with.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Recently, I think Cassandra Clare has been my favourite author. I love fantasy, action adventure books. I’ve had a fascination with magic every since I was really little, that hasn’t changed any.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The Tarot Cards: Major Arcana, my most recent book, is about a high school girl named Clara. She gets thrown into a parallel world by a tarot card that appeared in her house. Her journey starts when she lands on Gaia, where she meets Alex, a magical, friendly talking tiger. He helps her as she traverses through the Kingdom of Burkart, solving puzzles and facing trials, in order to collect the tarot cards that have been draining the planet of it’s power. To get back home and save the planet, Clara has to collect all 22 major arcana tarot cards.
