Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Virginia. I love the parks and beaches of Virginia. The city too, because so many of the cities in Virginia, especially Richmond (not far from where I grew up) have hiking trails and river access. The beauty of nature and the need to take care of the land on which we live will be a recurring part of all my stories.
I currently live in Virginia with my sweet husband, two (very) energetic children, and a ridiculously obnoxious cat.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have loved reading since I was a little kid and always wrote poems and short stories for fun. With the exception of publishing a poem in a high school creative newsletter, I never intended for writing to be anything more than a hobby or distraction for myself. Instead, I worked in sales, and then in case management for people with disabilities. After my kids were born, I still wanted a career but I needed it to be flexible. While working as a running coach and personal trainer, I started writing a short story for fun, but this time, I couldn’t leave the idea alone and it worked its way into a story. After experiencing all the frustration and joy of turning an idea into an actual book, I know now that writing is what I was meant to do.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love romance, science fiction, suspense, horror, chick lit, and more.
Some of my favorite authors are Ray Bradbury, S.E. Hinton, Sarah Addison Allen, Elle Kennedy, Suzanne Collins, Dean Koontz, and Rebecca Zanetti.
Ray Bradbury and S.E. Hinton were two authors whose works I read early in life. Ray Bradbury’s works inspired me to think about writing outside of the ordinary world and creating different realities. S.E. Hinton’s books inspired me to focus on the characters and their complexities and thoughts instead of just continuous action.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Wolf’s Challenge is a paranormal romance featuring a sexy, dark haired, blue eyed wolf shifter male and the curvy, sweet, redhead he wants to claim. But before Derrick can claim Sydney as his mate, he has to find his way out of the friend-zone. Sydney is determined Derrick is a player, that his outgoing personality makes him just too much of a risk. She’s been burned before by a charming jerk and she’s not about to let it happen again. After recovering from an even scarier relationship with a violent man, Sydney is determined to deny her attraction to Derrick. Relationships are just too dangerous, she’s decided.
After the loss of his child, Derrick has been consumed by grief. He’s been existing but not living. Sydney is a fiery haired light in Derrick’s darkness and he knows he needs her in his life, but his fears that Sydney can’t handle some of the secrets he’s hiding leave Derrick twisted up inside.
Can love conquer fear? Will Derrick and Sydney survive an obsessed stalker long enough to find out?
Wolf’s challenge took about two years to write and then another year to go through the editing and publishing process. Going over my editors suggestions and trying to find a better way to say what I wanted to say was hard but the hardest (well, scariest) part of the whole process was submitting the book to a publisher in the first place.
