Featured Interview With Chantal Cox

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up as an Army brat and had the opportunity to live and travel all over the world. We spent time stationed in Panama, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and a variety of places across the US. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a special education teacher, and I am currently serving as a Special Education Instructional Coach.
Throughout my career, I have experienced first hand how the stresses of life can take a toll on your physical and mental health. I embarked on a multi-year self-help journey and now strive to teach others ways to find a healthy, balanced life. Through my book, YouTube channel, and blog, I share with authenticity and vulnerability how to use practical habits and routines to Create a Life You Love.
When I am not writing, I enjoy Latin and Ballroom dancing, painting, running, and watching old black and white musicals with my cat, Ginger Rogers.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always been drawn to books and would frequently read until my alarm went off for school the next morning. Growing up I dabbled in writing, including poetry. As an adult, I started a book series in my late 20’s but put it on the back burner when I decided to get married and move to another state. Now in my mid-30’s, I am so thrilled to be a published author.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am currently in a phase of life where I am reading mostly self-help and leadership books, but I do love to get lost in a good fiction novel.
Some of my favorite authors include; Brene Brown, Jen Sincero, Byron Katie, and John C. Maxwell.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Create a Life You Love is part self-help, part memoir. It takes the reader through my own multi-year self-help journey. I started as a skeptic filled with negative self-talk and terrible self-esteem.
I want each reader to know that they were not created to live a mediocre life consumed by stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. We each have the power to create an extraordinary life and accomplish goals we never dreamed possible. By intentionally implementing the 10 incredibly simple practices outlined in the book, anyone can begin a beautiful adventure.

Whether you want to move carefully, making small changes in baby steps, or if you feel ready to embark on a complete personal overhaul, the simple practices outlines will help you change the way you show up to your life every day. It’s time to radically change your perspective and to begin Creating a Life You Love.
