Featured Interview With Celina Thompson
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Texas, but moved out to Denver, Colorado a few years ago for medical reasons. I am a disabled author and my invisible illnesses make me a vampire—sunlight is painful, I can’t have garlic, and frequently need blood transfusions. I don’t have any pets, but I am in the process of getting a service dog to help me with my disabilities.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I think my fascination with book probably started around the second grade—when I’d read every single book for my level that the school library had. I’ve always journaled but didn’t venture into crafting a novel until 2015 after a falling out with a friend and a really bad breakup. I started writing my debut novel, Sanctuary, in 2018 when I was hospitalized with a blood clot in my brain.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love a good spicy romance book. I love reading Sherrilyn Kenyon, Emma Slate, and Louise Bay. I get inspired by life, especially my friends and family.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Sanctuary recently went #1 in Erotic Horror on Amazon. It started as a way for me to write through my medical trauma and grew into something so much more. It is about vampires who get blood transfusions and the struggles Sienna faces as she learns to cope with her own death and build relationships with her new found family.
