Featured Interview With C.H. Reece
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yep, the Mormon state. And, no, I’m not a sister wife… lol. I am a cat person and have had many over the years, but I think after this one, I’m going to be petless for a while. Traveling is so much easier without having to worry about your fur baby.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I didn’t really read much as a kid. My first book that really got me into reading was “The Vampire Lestat” by Anne Rice. I was in high school at the time. After that, I read all her books, bought them on audiobook and even put some to my mp3 player to listen to at work.
I never thought myself a writer, even after I wrote my own in my 30s.
I dreamt it!
I had an amazingly vivid dream that woke me up in the wee hours of the morning, actually compelled to scribble it all down. That was over 15 years ago. When I finished writing it down, I thought I got it out of my system. I put it away and several years later, there was a flood in my home. The notebook was misplaced during the packing and replacing of items.
Just before Covid-19, I started reading a lot of romance, fantasy, erotica books, and it dawned on me that I had written a book, or at least the mad scribbles of one. When I went looking for the notebook, I couldn’t find it anywhere. But, the majority of the dream was etched into my mind, and I found myself scribbling into another notebook. I added a few things to fluff it up a bit. I spent another year writing in more detail, tweaking here and there. Always finding something I needed to change or elaborate on. It kind of has a life of its own and consumes the majority of my time. But, I think it will be worth it in the end.
I got my start on Inkitt, not quite 4 months ago. Since then, my first book, Witch’s Link has had over 22.000 reads with the lowest chapter being an 88% binge rate. I currently have 2 completed books and one ongoing.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I think every book you read, every movie you see, and every day life influences how you write. But if I have to choose a few, I would say:
Anne Rice – When I was a teenager.
Dean Koontz – as a young adult.
But, as an adult my biggest influeners are LB Harpdog, LaurG Novels, Milly Taiden, Alta Hensley, Stasia Black, LORDGRTH, There are too many.
I prefer to read Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, and Erotica.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I am currently working on the 3rd book in my series. “ Witch’s Link—The Matriarch and the Alpha”.
If you haven’t read the first 2 books, you should. This book is a short continuation leading into past events that will give you more insight to why certain things happened the way they did in book 1 and 2. A sort of prequel.
While this book can be read alone, because it has a prologue/recap of the first two books, you would be missing out on all the juicy details if you don’t go read the others first.
However, let’s tell you a little about this book:
This book is the beginning of it all. The decisions made in a blink of an eye causing a ripple effect in the lives of so many. It’s about how the paths of the main characters in book 1 and 2 intersected.
The new Apprentice to the Matriarch of the East Coast Coven of Witches, Samantha Davenport, and her soulmate and Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack , Damen Winthrop, are celebrating their union. During the celebration, Alpha James Taylor reminisces about how it all began…
James POV
I should have never been on that road. I should have never attacked without knowing all the facts. I took an innocent life and in the process destroyed mine and my mates’ life.
