Featured Interview With Bref McHugh
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi there! I’m Bref McHugh. I was born in England and grew up since I was seven, in Ireland. In my early twenties, as part of my adventures and wanderlust, I traveled to the US. A summer turned into the rest of my life…so far.
Today, I live in sunny Florida (Yes, I wear sunblock every day :), I am blessed to have a beautiful wife, and life partner, plus two amazing young boys.
I’m an absolute soccer junkie, self-confessed, growth-obsessed entrepreneur, and visionary business builder. As the co-owner of ClinicGrower, I spearhead the leading Growth Marketing agency for medical and aesthetic practices in America.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Since I was little, my parents instilled in me a growth mindset and work ethic. From ages 7 to 17, I wrote fantasy stories while I worked at my parents’ grocery store back home in Ireland. As I grew older in my early teens my interest and intrigue with the world of business also grew. The lessons I learned watching my parents handle a business with such care still drive me today. It was rewarding and stressful at times, and it gave me the ingredients to start my career.
I came to the United States in my early 20s with nothing to my name except a mattress and a point to prove. I had always been interested in marketing, so I spent my college years in Ireland studying marketing and management. In the U.S., I worked my way up through different marketing roles, cutting my teeth in advertising and eventually landing a national sales position managing millions in advertising dollars.
I realized I wasn’t reaching my full potential or utilizing all of my skill sets. So, I started a research project in 2015, which eventually turned into a business in 2017. I began reaching out to different clinics to see how I could help practices grow, and I discovered such a need there. Busy practices were focused on transforming their clients’ lives but didn’t have the resources, time, or strategy to build their brand and client base.
I’ve also been known to like a good detour. Back in 2010, I quit my corporate life to travel the world with my wife. We backpacked across India and South America during which time I was able to satisfy my journalistic and story-telling itch by writing my travel blog at that time.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Today, I love my nonfiction. I am a big fan of Tim S. Grover, Jeb Blount, and Napoleon Hill. My writings are inspired by the people I work with, the people I serve, and the hard-working entrepreneurs across the world.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I am thrilled to have written my first book, alongside my co-author and business partner. “Seductive Digital Marketing & Sales For Aesthetic Practices” is not just a book; it’s a journey into the heart of modern digital marketing strategies tailored specifically for the aesthetic industry. It took me almost exactly one year to write my first book. Between work, life, family, and my constant revisions before I said good is good enough..it took a few minutes longer than I expected! The second will be better/ easier I’m sure!
