Featured Interview With Ashlyn Chase
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in suburban Boston, MA, now living in coastal Florida with my superhero husband Mr. Amazing, and 2 adorable cats. I was a registered nurse for 20 years until I decided to write full time. My contemporary and paranormal books are always romantic and humorous. I won Best First Book for Heaving Bosoms, a rom com, and have been a bestselling author on Amazon before self-publishing existed. Now a hybrid author, I am doing both traditional and Indie publishing.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was going to be a fine artist, so missed the clues that I should be a WRITER. I received an A+ from a tough creative writing teacher, and still didn’t get it. In high school I got my heart broken and sat down to read, hoping that would take my mind off of it. It did. I read The Godfather in a couple days.
Still didn’t think about writing. In nursing school I began keeping a journal. That was helpful, but just for discipline and looking at the world a little differently. I finally took a screenwriting course and learned to tell stories when I needed a creative outlet, and eventually turned them into novels.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I like to read what I enjoy writing. Mary Janice Davidson invented paranormal chick-lit. I’ve been a fan for ages. Also, Eve Langlais, Robyn Peterman, Sally Painter, etc.

Pushing forty, Ronda Calhoun and her single friends participated in a spell to summon immortals. They figured immortals might appreciate women with more maturity and experience. For all the others it worked! So where’s Ronda’s guy?
Private investigator Nate Smith didn’t know what he had when he and Ronda dated in high school. Now older and wiser, he realizes she’s the one he wants to spend his long life with. Arranging to run into her again isn’t a problem, but telling her he’s a werewolf could ruin everything.
