Featured Interview With Anna Othitis
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Anna Othitis lived and was raised in the beautiful land and country of Zimbabwe, Africa (home will always be home. She left all of her life long memories, endless charity work and good people behind vowing that she will continue supporting the needy children in her land Zimbabwe, Africa and beyond. After traveling long and short distances from the East coast to the West coast twice she and her family eventually found their sense of belonging and final settling destination in New Jersey, USA.
Her husband George, sons Johnny, Elia and Frankie encouraged her to write her first children’s book titled “My First Travel Book”, inspired by Frankie (Captain Frankie), who is graduating from his Masters degree in Aeronautical Science and beginning his career as a professional pilot. Anna’s favorite saying is “Be Bold Be Brave”.
She was inspired to write her children’s books with a vision to link up the children Africa and of the world on Angelic Airlines to so many beautiful places of interest and popularity on our wonderful planet Earth with all its beautiful some natural and some man made creations and resources. One of the beautiful natural wonders featured in her books is in her birth land of Zimbabwe “The Mighty Victoria Falls” All of her books educate our children and widen their scope of interest in the amazing surroundings, creations and nature to appreciate and look after our environment for many generations still to come.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I always wanted to write and educate the children of the world. I started writing 10 years ago when I moved to the USA when I realized that children in this part of the world wanted to know more about the world beyond their borders. I love to teach children with autism and read to them they love books and learning more.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love to read books that have in sites of peoples lives. I more so love reading children’s books that I in turn read to them. I do not have a favorite author, I read a variety of books without violence. My inspiration comes from autistic children and my family. I was inspired by our son Captain Frankie who is a pilot loves flying and soaring the skies above.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is about Africa’s Big Five Wildlife, going into the biggest wildlife park the Serengeti. We visit, discover and learn about Africa’s “Big Five” Wild Animals.
This is a wondrous journey through Africa’s sunsets and sunrises with such colorful and flaming skies.
We go into the plains and wilderness learning about the wild animals of Africa that are about to become extinct due to poaching and killing if these beautiful wild animals that roam free in the wilds of Africa. Children learn about their habitats and their living environments, there is such wonderful information on these animals that children will absorb and have fun with their Captain Frankie as he takes them on a safari tour.
