Featured Interview With Anita Job
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada. While I have been fortunate to have traveled to 20+ countries, I’ve never been able to find a place quite like home. I enjoy the mild climate, cultural diversity, kayaking, snowshoeing, ice hockey, hiking, and other sports activities that are available year-round. When I’m not doing these activities I’m working a job I enjoy, volunteering at my church, and promoting my books or writing the next one!
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always been a reader, when I was a kid I read books regularly from our local library. In university, I read my textbooks and other books for enjoyment on breaks. I have read everything on my parent’s bookshelf, any book my employer recommends, the Bible, and books others recommend I read. Recently, I’ve been listening to more audio books, learning never stops! I started writing in 2020 when a few friends were going through unexpected job transitions and sought me out for advice as I had already changed employers a few times.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy reading books on leadership, business, and Christian spirituality. The list of authors I enjoy is too long to write here! My writing style is inspired not by a particular author but instead from my time working as a facilitator where my role was to ask questions to facilitate learning for groups that hired our company.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
“I Am Changing Careers” is a series of questions and answers based on the author’s job-hunting experience that will encourage and motivate you on what works to get hired. Topics include choosing your career, getting hired, how to take care of your health, and what to do once you have the job. By the end of the book, you will have clarity on what you want and what you need to do to get there.
I have a new and expanded 30-day plan on how to find a job that will be released on October 15, 2023.
