Featured Interview With Anicia S. Eriksson
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in October 1995 in Stockholm, Sweden, which is where I currently live. I have a pet, Frizzy. She’s a black cat and the sweetest and weirdest little creature. I share a home and a life with my boyfriend. Writing is basically who I am, and something I’ve been loving since a little kid. I wrote my first book as an eight year old. Can’t say it was a book worth any raving reviews, but I was pretty happy with it at the time. I still keep it around, to remind myself of my biggest dreams coming true.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As soon as I could read, I knew it was for me. I always loved ariting assignments in school, and have always been writing much on my spare time.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
There are too many to mention. I do prefer thrillers of some sort, but I always end up reading romance and feelgood – they are my guilty pleasure. I acutally enjoy reading most genres!
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is called “Not your shame – A journey in recovering from mental illness”. It is originaly a Swedish title (“Skammen är inte din”) and was recently translated by myself into English. It was released on Amazon in july. It is a self biography in poetry and prose about alcoholism, death, rape, mental illness, and also about love, hope and finding a will to live. It was therapeutic for me to write, and has shown to work therapeuticly for the people reading it as well. It took approximately one year or so to write, and it wasn’t until I’d written like half of it Before I realized that it could be a book. When I finished it, I had very small hopes of it ever being published, but I sent it to a few publishers anyway. And only a couple of months later, my publisher emailed me back that she wanted to publish my book. I have grown so much since then.
