Featured Interview With Andrew Masseurs
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My Name is Andrew Masseurs and I am from Wellington, New Zealand. I’m a crazy guy who loves to play sport, exercise, make music and write novels. I’ve got two dogs and two cats. A wife who I love dearly and four beautiful kids.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started at 48. Yes, 48. I was on holiday and was struggling through a book when I decided to write my own. Before you know it I had my first novella written. A Day in the Life book one in my apocalyptic series. Where did it come from? I don’t know. Did I plan it? No. Did it write itself? Pretty much. Am I happy with it? Hell yeah.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Stephen King, George R R Martin, J K Rowling, Thomas Harris,Suzanne Collins. I loved to get whisked away into another world. The best books were the ones I couldn’t put down. There really is something special about keeping the reader guessing.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The latest book is The Day After. The sequel to my first book A Day in the Life. The series is about family. In this world everyone has mysteriously vanished. It is about the family trying to survive in a world that wants them dead. I can’t say too much as it would give away the secrets that you need to discover. It was written in a month. It doesn’t always happen like that. I have two unreleased novels that took a year each to write. This one kicks their ass. It’s like writing a good song. When it happens it’s as easy as eating your favourite pie. Quick and delicious.
