Featured Interview With Adam Mann
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m ancient. I was born before World War 2, and after the war my parents moved to Singapore. I spent five years at boarding school in the UK. After University I started working in Africa, but after 25 years moved to Asia unwittingly choosing some “hot spots” like the Swat valley in the North West Frontier Province in Pakistan. Over 20 years ago I moved to Vietnam working with smallholder farmers, and strengthening the extension services. I retired several ago and started writing romance books.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My job entailed writing reports, but my first novel was historical romance and written in my bungalow on the edge of a coconut plantation in Sri Lanka. I have had travel frequently, long distances by plane, and started buying novels in airport bookshops. My fascination with romance stories started then.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I prefer reading adventure stories, often based in Africa or Asia, and in territories that I had probably worked in myself.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’ve written 27 romance novels, and recently have been putting together three in a Box Set, which also involved editing and amending some chapters, and republishing the original book. I tried to find a common theme for each box set, like high heels, or Asian ladies.
