Featured Interview With A. S. Mother
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am an anonymous author.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My father used to write short stories and I recall him completing a manuscript for a longer book when I was around 4. I was writing 8 A4 sides by 5 years old and I decided around this time that I wanted to be a writer. In addition to story writing, I wrote poetry which was mainly about the injustices in the world, from a child’s perspective at the time. This brings together the project and aims for TRAPPED. It brings together my passion for writing with my need to reveal injustices and unfairness in society.
I regularly write within my field of work which, ironically, is not writing.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have read a lot of books in French, a favourite being Bonjour Tristesse by Sagon. I also got quite hooked on books by an author named Gounelle.
I read a lot of non-fiction books, relating to my field of work.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Finn West, psychologist in her late 30s, finds herself entrapped in danger. As she navigates her way through unfamiliar territory in her relationship with Mo, a story emerges showing the struggles of a parent striving to break free and protect herself and her child from a narcissistically abusive relationship.
Leaving Mo is when Finn starts receiving the strongest emotional blows. As she travels through the system and agencies in place to gain protection, Finn repeatedly finds that her experiences are not as they are meant to be.
TRAPPED aims to promote awareness, to educate, to comfort its readers. It is aimed not only at supporting victims of narcissistic abuse, but also educating professionals working to support this group. This could be anyone working within child services, the family courts, legal support roles, child contact centres and therapeutic roles.
