Finding Joy by Tara White

Finding Joy by Tara White

Have you spent your life giving so much of yourself to others that you no longer know who you are anymore?

40-year-old Joy Donnoly, recently widowed following her husband’s decade-long progressive illness, finds herself all alone after her triplets leave for college and university.

Without anyone to take care of for the first time in two decades, Joy realizes she has given so much of herself to take care of her family that she lost herself in the process. Unable to figure out what to do next, she falls into a depression, losing herself to television and social media to cope with her grief. When her daughters step in to do an “intervention” Joy begins a journey to rediscover herself and find a new way forward.

Join Joy on her journey of self-discovery, as she fights her way through the darkness to reclaim her identity, and in doing so, not only finds herself but finds a way to step into her future with happiness and joy.

Author Tara White wrote the majority of this book on location in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia (literally sitting on the rocks looking out into the Atlantic Ocean), and in Waikoloa, Hawaii, two of the settings in the book. The rocks and ocean on the book cover are from an actual picture taken during one of her writing sessions. She visited Nova Scotia many times a year in one of her prior jobs and took advantage of the opportunity to get out to Peggy’s Cove to squeeze in a few hours of writing on her trips. Peggy’s Cove quickly became her magical writing place where, as soon as she sits down on the rocks and opens her laptop, her fingers just start flying across the keyboard and the characters come to life! Since she started visiting Peggy’s Cove fairly regularly over five years ago, she has easily spent over a couple of hundred hours on the rocks, and on many of those visits, she searched the ocean for a whale or a dolphin, without one sighting. On her last trip to Peggy’s Cove, with her completed manuscript in the rental car in the parking lot, she was goofing around taking some sample pictures for the book cover and she saw a dolphin! She watched as the dolphin jumped out of the water, moving back and forth in front of her as it moved farther away, under the setting sun. At that moment, Tara felt the connection to her main character in one of the scenes in her book, feeling pure joy and excitement while standing on the rocks!

Tara is a Radical Change Coach and energy healer. Her life mission, in addition to entertaining people with her stories, is to help empower people to heal and transform their lives so that they can live the life of their dreams, with joy and happiness.

Margery

About Margery:

“A lone hiker is drawn deep into the woods and emerges into a community set apart from the real world. What unfolds for him there—and the secret he discovers—isn’t what you might expect. With its rich descriptions of the natural world, its wise and articulate insights, its cast of humane characters, Margery addresses the deepest and most important issues we face. It’s Jeffrey Penn May’s best book.” – John Dalton, prize winning author of Heaven Lake and The Inverted Forest

Introverted backpacker Jeremy wanders off trail and discovers an eccentric, otherworldly town nestled in a mountain basin. The people he finds there are pleasant but a little bit peculiar. He befriends a reticent doctor and his quirky wife, and Margery, who regularly leaps from a cliff in death-defying bungee jumps.

Why, he wonders, do the otherwise healthy and upbeat townspeople seem to be disappearing? Does it have anything to do with hallucinogenic mushrooms and the transition from life to whatever lies beyond?

“This graceful, lyrical, and delicate novella lets us live in the mind of a fellow human who seeks solace and escape in the wilderness. May is brave enough to tackle and illuminate the big mysteries: how and why we keep going, how we face death, how we connect or fail to,

Concerning Intelletual Suicide in The Human Race by Massimo Fantini

About Concerning Intelletual Suicide in The Human Race by Massimo Fantini:

Intellectual suicide corresponds to the more or less conscious decision to switch off the brain and renounce rational thought in favor of attitudes dictated by superstitions, by established habits, by prejudices, by common places. The effects of irrational choices – made with the brain switched off – can be devastating for oneself and for the others. Examples range from conformism, to religious superstitions, to ideological fundamentalism, just to name a few possibilities.

Tommaso, the protagonist of this debate, is the victim of his parents’ intellectual suicide, perpetrated through procreation. Procreation – the unilateral act by which a couple throws innocent individuals into the stillicidium of life, without weighing the consequences that the hell of existence will have on them – is the most heinous form of intellectual suicide in the human race, not least because of the scale of its consequences.

The author’s intention is to shine the spotlight on the one reality that unites us all, that accompanies our lives from birth until death, but which is casted to our periphery: the human condition.

The Tales of Zren Janin boxed set by ML Dunker

The Tales of Zren Janin boxed set by ML Dunker

Three strangers race across two countries with only one goal: to survive.
Kerek, Matasi, and Vikland are three countries squabbling like quarrelsome siblings. The Kerek King has allowed banditry against anyone with a different language or skin color, and the Vikland Empress has had enough of her travelers injured and killed outside of her borders. Matasi has also suffered from Kerek’s brutality but has the money and power – or so the Triune Council believes – to break Kerek without bloodshed.

In a war of words and weapons, who will win? For when blood is shed, it is always the young and the poor who pay the greatest price.

The Tales of Zren Janin are stories of adventure, political intrigue, soldiers, spies, and bravery where no one is safe, promises are casually broken, and justice demands a price.
For readers who like great worldbuilding in a South Pacific setting, heart-pounding escapes, stories about spies, saboteurs, and survivors when the odds are never in their favor.
