Beautiful Heartbreak by Perry Kay

About Beautiful Heartbreak by Perry Kay:

“Beautiful Heartbreak” is a seamlessly weaved story of Depression, PTSD, and Anorexia, depicted through a collection of poems. Perry Kay opens a little crack in the world of those who battle their minds every day.
From the depths of pain and despair beautiful art was born, hence the title “Beautiful Heartbreak”. Through every step in her recovery and personal journey, Perry writes poetry. Her goal with this book is to spread more Mental Health awareness and to normalize and expose the dark and ugly side of Mental Illness. The media will only show you so much, the skinny girl who nibbles on celery and. the pretty girl who cries mascara tears. Beautiful Heartbreak however, will give you more. It will give you the truth. So, grab a box of tissues or glass of wine and get ready to cry, scream, get angry, feel raw fear and pain, through the author’s writing.

Author Bio:
Perry Kay is a dark and twisty writer and poet. Her first love will always be ‘words’. Growing up you could find her reading cereal boxes during meals and writing silly poems about Science or History. Her friendscalled her the walking dictionary and she had a full-time job writing everyone else’s essays.
In her adolescent years, Perry was diagnosed with Mental Illness, including Depression, PTSD, and Anorexia. She’s been to “Grippy Socks Jail” (psych ward) more times that she can count. She loves bringing her struggles to life using vivid imagery in her poetry. The majority of her poems, written in psych wards; depict what most can’t describe. The struggles inside a brain of someone struggling with mental health is too complex to be written out. Perry uses strange metaphors to bring her pain alive. Sometimes it’s hard to find the meaning in her abstract expressions but she likes it that way. She wants you to decide what this poem means to you. When Perry writes, all herdefenses melt away and it’s just her and the paper. So, welcome to the secret world of Perry’s brain.
