At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve loved books since a very early age. I remember reading books while lying on my bed during rainy afternoons when I was in grade school. I loved getting caught up in the descriptive words of a good novel. I didn’t really begin writing until college. I was an English major and did a good deal of writing, but it was centered around book analyses, comparisons, and research. I’ve always interested in nutrition as well. After the birth of my second son, I decided to resign from my job to stay at home with my kids. At that time, I began writing articles for website about nutrition and healthy eating. This eventually led me to begin doing research for my book.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Although I’m a non-fiction writer, I enjoy reading fiction. My current favorite author is Sinead Moriarty.
My writing is inspired by people who are trying to find a path toward healthy living and eating. I’m inspired by the patients I’ve cared for who’ve had cancer or other chronic diseases. My mission is to spread the word about cancer and disease prevention through diet and lifetyle.
