Featured Interview With Eeva Lancaster
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a happily married, successful career woman, writer and executive assistant from the Philippines. These are the labels that define me. I’m a lover of the written word and express myself best through my writing. I find that my passion lies in sharing the wisdom I gained from my life experiences, in the hopes that others will find value in my work. Most of my upcoming eBooks are in the Non-Fiction, Self-Help categories.
In my spare time, I love my TV series marathons with my husband. I enjoy snorkeling and just being near the ocean. It’s uplifting. So, it wouldn’t be surprising that I’d have 3 red-eared turtles as pets!
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I can’t remember a time when books weren’t a part of my life. I’m a voracious reader! My first introduction to the written word was when I started writing poems 20 years ago. That compilation was the first book that I published, In Loving You: A Journey of Love and Self Discovery. It felt right that I should start my writing career with my first compositions.
I’ve been blogging for a while now, I have 4 blogs actually! I believe in conversations and my books have that tone. I speak directly to my reader and share my points of view and experiences, in the hopes that it might be useful to them on their own journeys.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have an eclectic taste in books. Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead played a big part in my intellectual development. I’m a little bit of a rebel who hates conforming just to please people. I read everything except history. I prefer watching them as documentaries!
I love Anne Rice, Arthur Clarke, Stephen King -oh they’re too many to mention!
Life inspires me to write. There are many tales to tell. When I write about something, it’s like passing on nuggets of wisdom. I’d like to think of my words as my immortality. Something to let the world know that I was here, and that I lived!
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book will be released end of January of early February. It’s the 2nd of my Now What? Series entitled, You want to be an ONLINE FREELANCER.. Now What? It’s meant to be a template that everyone can follow if they want to venture into Online Freelancing. I share proven strategies based on my own successful freelancing career. More importantly, I share insights on how someone can succeed in this business.
The 1st book of the Now What? Series is about relationships and marriage. It’s entitled, You’re Getting Married Soon… Now What? In this book, I urge couples to ask each other questions that will give them a peek into their future lives. Who is the person they’re marrying? Do they have the same viewpoints? Most relationships fail because of unrealistic expectations and wishful thinking. It’s best not to leave it to chance and just ask.
