Amanda Scott does the hard work for us and gives us a list of edible wild plants that are easy to find and good to eat in Britain, North American and most of the Northern Hemisphere. These plants can be found in gardens and back yards. They are often called weeds and many people spend a lot of time and money trying to get rid of them.
Foraging From your Front door (FFF) is the new buzz word these days. Amanda explains how we don’t have to spend hours travelling to find wild food. It’s right on our doorstep and has been all the time. It’s just that we haven’t allowed wild food plants to grow because we class them as weeds ie. plants growing in the wrong place. However, they are not growing in the wrong place. They are growing in the right place. These plants are not only edible, they taste good, are completely free and by allowing them to grow we will help stem the decline of wildlife.
