Ambitious Akari Mahkali is the CEO of her own investment firm. Her busy life gets turned upside down when she finds a new obsession: the K-pop boy band, X7. During their initial encounters, the boys are curious about the alluring and secretive American. Akari sees dollar signs and seven very attractive men. She convinces her Board of Directors they should take a new sort of risk: the music industry. More specifically, take a chance on X7.
Akari positions herself to run point on the project. She has friends with a wide range of musical talents, from rappers to choreographers. Her friends adore her, but worry she works too hard. Their concerns are seven-fold when she has the band stay in her own home during their American training.
Her normally quiet home life is shattered by seven twenty-somethings from Korea. With X7, the K-pop machine had churned out seven specimens of male perfection. The guys are high-energy, skillful, and affectionate. In the beginning, things are a little awkward, especially when Akari begins to doubt her flirt-o-meter. The same quality that drew her attention one late night on YouTube, keeps drawing her in to the handsome, talented slate of young men. The guys’ enigmatic nature leaves her hungry for more.
Meanwhile, her choreographer friend, Sho, has other ideas. He is her ex-boyfriend, ex-dominant, and current office flirt. Akari knows he wants her, but she’s over him. Mostly. Sho sees her attraction to some of the boys. He knows her weaknesses and her desire for dominant men, so Sho coaches them on how to seduce Akari.
Her attraction grows stronger, as the guys stay longer. Soon, some of the guys make their move. Jaehyuk and Kangdae find Akari in the sauna, and each torment her within an inch of decency. She’s their boss and older than them. So much so, they use the honorific, “Noona” as a sign of respect to their elder, Akari. But these sexy men do not see her as just an older woman: they see her as a bold, strong woman who is nothing like the women back home.
Akari’s style is designer, her body is thick, and she takes no lip from anyone. They don’t fully realize why she called them from across the Pacific; X7 knows this is a business arrangement, but CEOs from investment firms don’t call K-pop bands every day. When they get to know Akari, each of them see what they want to see: either a woman with a mind for money, or a woman with a body for their wildest American dreams. No matter which one answers, each member of X7 is grateful Akari Mahkali called.
Things take a twist for the naughty, when Kangdae and Jaehyuk make it clear which parts of her they want. Akari hesitates, but their mysterious vibe and heavenly bodies crack her composure, and she finally learns to let go. She argues with herself; they’re her employees, her students, her apprentices. It’s not a perfect situation, but she won’t let that get in the way of what she’s feeling. It’s not love, it’s Something Even Better.
