“If you like Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum, you’ll love this new heroine.” (Sunday Telegraph, Sydney Australia)
The shock ending to Erica Jewell’s marriage has left a huge hole in her bank balance and a bigger one in her heart. So now this office worker’s goals make a very short list: no surprises, no debt and, definitely, no men. That is, until she finds one bleeding to death in her Melbourne garden one stormy night.
Jack Jones is a man whose emotional wounds are more life-threatening than the bullet in his shoulder. When he recruits Erica to his secret team of vigilantes, Erica suspects her safe, predictable world is about to be inverted.
And she’s absolutely right.
Funny, romantic and action-packed, Rough Diamond introduces Australia’s unforgettable Erica Jewell.

In 2005 I left (was retrenched from) my thrilling (boring) corporate job and went back to school. Honestly, I felt like I was coming home. I took a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing – all non-fiction subjects because I thought I’d get a job as an annual report writer – and promptly started writing a novel, having no idea how to do that. I had no choice! This voice who called itself Erica Jewell nagged and nagged until an opening scene formed in my head and I wrote it down and went from there (even though my husband and dog wanted me to get a job). That opening scene is still exactly as I imagined it all those years ago, and introduces Erica in her first adventure, ROUGH DIAMOND.
