Featured Interview With Savannah Holloway
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I write under the pen name Savannah Holloway and prefer to keep my personal details private. I enjoy creating clean, faith-based mysteries set in the Smoky Mountains. I do have a cat named Mort, who inspired the beloved feline character in my series.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I didn’t grow up with a fascination for books. Instead, my love for stories came from watching mystery series. In 2026, I felt inspired to try writing for myself. That’s when I created Mort’s Smoky Mountain Dream Mysteries, blending faith, mystery, and the Smoky Mountain setting with my cat Mort as inspiration for the series’ feline character.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy watching clean mystery series, especially stories with strong characters, unexpected clues, and satisfying endings. My writing is inspired by God, the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, mystery television series, and my cat, Mort.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is Mort and the Agent’s Secret, the third book in Mort’s Smoky Mountain Dream Mysteries. In this clean, faith-based mystery, Kaytlyn receives God-given dreams that reveal clues connected to a murdered agent, a bloodstained bracelet, and a dangerous secret. With Deputy Luke Carter, Sheriff Thomas Carter, DEA agent Mel Blake, who is on administrative leave, and her faithful cat Mort beside her, she must uncover the truth before it is too late. Readers who would like to begin the series can download Book 1, Mort and the Empty Cradle, free on Amazon from July 17 through July 21.
