Featured Interview With Rosa Letha
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a professional author and freelance writer with a foundational background in campus journalism. My body of work includes five published titles across diverse genres, such as Everything They Left Me: A Diary, Karma, and The Discovery of the Century. I was raised in the vibrant, tropical landscape of Indonesia, which deeply influenced my appreciation for storytelling. Currently, I embrace a digital nomad lifestyle, allowing the various cultures I encounter to inform my writing. While I don’t have any pets at the moment, I’ve always liked the idea of keeping an aquarium—perhaps a clownfish one day—to add a bit of tranquil inspiration to my workspace.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
The roots of my writing career go back to when I was five years old. I was an early and avid reader, which led me to start drafting my own narratives by the time I was in first grade. That early experimentation in primary school was where I first discovered the joy of building worlds and connecting with characters—a process that has stayed with me through my journey as a journalist and now as a novelist.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My reading tastes lean heavily toward fantasy and mystery, and J.K. Rowling remains a primary influence for her mastery of both. What inspires me most is the sheer depth of her creative vision—the way she builds worlds that feel lived-in and authentic. As an author, I am constantly inspired by her ability to craft layered stories where every detail eventually serves a greater purpose. She has significantly shaped my approach to creating rich backgrounds and complex character arcs in my own series.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest release, How to Lose a Decade: Married to My Nemesis, is a high-concept romantic comedy that resonates deeply with millennial and Gen Z readers. The story follows a seventeen-year-old girl who suddenly wakes up a decade later, only to find she is now a twenty-seven-year-old wife and mother, living a completely different career path than she had planned. To make matters worse, she discovers she is married to her high school nemesis. At its heart, the book is a poignant yet humorous exploration of the gap between our youthful expectations and the reality of adulthood. It’s written for every woman who has ever questioned the path her life has taken and is learning to find beauty in the unexpected.
