Featured Interview With Nijas N
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
“Hi, I’m glad to be here. My name is Nijas N. I’m an author and a podcast host of “nijas n podcast”. I began my journey through self-publishing, and now I’m moving forward to publish my new works more seriously and professionally.
I was born in Kollam, Kerala, and I’m currently living in Kollam as well. It’s my hometown and a place that has deeply influenced my writing and creative work.”
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I began my writing journey at the age of 14–15, starting with short poems and reflective pieces on a writing app called Poetizer. Sharing my work on this platform allowed me to connect with other writers and poets, many of whom offered valuable feedback and encouragement. Their appreciation played an important role in motivating me to take my writing more seriously and continue developing my skills.
As I continued writing, I decided to compile my poems and quotes into a structured collection. This effort eventually led to the publication of my first book. During this phase, I spent time exploring different literary genres to understand where my writing felt most natural. Through this process, I discovered that motivational writing and poetry aligned best with my thoughts and writing style.
My work primarily focuses on motivation, self-reflection, and mindset. I aim to write in a way that helps readers question negative or limiting perspectives and encourages them to think more clearly and positively. Rather than offering advice in a complex or preachy manner, I try to present ideas in simple language that readers can easily relate to and reflect upon.
Building on this foundation, I began expanding my writing beyond poetry and quotes. I am interested in expressing my ideas through stories and novels, allowing me to explore human thoughts, emotions, and experiences in greater depth. One such effort is my second book, Stupid Thoughts, which focuses on identifying and reducing unhelpful thought patterns that often affect everyday decision-making and emotional well-being.
At present, I continue working on similar projects that revolve around motivation, personal growth, and thoughtful observation. Writing remains a medium through which I share my perspectives and connect with readers who are interested in self-improvement and meaningful reflection.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Almost every author and writer has influenced me in one way or another. I believe that every writer has something meaningful to share with the world, and they express those thoughts through their books. In doing so, they not only reach readers but also inspire other writers by expanding the way ideas, emotions, and perspectives can be expressed. This collective influence has helped shape my thinking and approach to writing.
My preferred genres are self help and twisted thoughts novels like Dostoevsky , and my work mainly focuses on these areas. I am drawn to writing that encourages reflection, inspires positive change, and gives readers a new way to view their thoughts and experiences.
When it comes to inspiration, much of it comes from my own experiences and personal explorations. Observing life, reflecting on emotions, and questioning everyday thoughts often lead me to write poems or short notes. Over time, I refine and combine these pieces, shaping them into cohesive works that eventually become my books.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My book 100 Pages has been officially postponed to a later date. At present, I am focusing on a new novel, which is still in the outline stage. I will share further updates and detailed information through my official Twitter account and other platforms once the project progresses.
