Featured Interview With Netty Sherer
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi there! I am Netty Sherer and I was raised in a suburb of the twin cities, kinda outside of it and now i live in a small town of less than 40 people! HAHA! I have two doggies, Grimm and Mabel who are 12 and 4 🙂
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have been fascinated with books my whole life! always going to the library and reading, reading LOL. I didn't do a lot of public writing because I never felt like it was good enough and i didn't have people in my life that were writers or readers, so I felt like I didn't have the support I needed till i was an adult, very recently. I wrote in my journal as a kid and made short stories in all the English classes i could sign up for! my first story was in 4th grade and was about Jax taking over the world.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Abby Jimenez, Allison Speka and Colleen Hoover. I love rom-coms, small town romance, let me be real with you, ANY type of romance! Allison Speka and Abby Jimenez inspire my writing. in a dedication page on one of Allison Speka's books, she writes, "For all the readers who didn't think they would be writers," and that changed my life.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I am working on book one of my planned 5-book series, Falling for Clear Creek, which is a forced proximity rom com starring Jen Carter and Trevor Brooks. Jen moves to Clear Creek to be closer to her best friend Darcy, who moved there after college because of a guy, so that they can follow their catering dreams together. What Jen doesn't realize is that she finds love at the expense of her friendship. She finds roots, which she doesn't realize she has wanted her whole life. She finds herself and her voice, more importantly. Jen is inspired by me and all my experiences in life that have led me to where I am today.
