Featured Interview With Morigan Shaw
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in West Virginia. I’ve lived a few other places, but call West Virginia home now with my son and cats.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was about 6 or 7 I think. In fact, I still have my tattered, dog-eared copy of the 1970’s printing of E.B. White’s, Trumpet of the Swan. After reading that book is when I first had the notion of becoming a writer. I’ve written stories all my life, but only recently started sharing them with the world.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite genre to read is probably fantasy, followed by horror, historical romance, and nonfiction. Really, I love all the books in all the genre’s I’ve read – I’ve learned something from every single one, whether I liked the book or not! 🙂
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Edelaine’s Folly: Book One of the Idoramin Chronicles is the story of a young woman who is thrust into a destiny she doesn’t want, a family legacy she never knew, and forced to trust in an unknown strength she doesn’t understand. While some of the familiar fantasy tropes are here, readers will find some twists and turns along the way. I wanted to dive deeply into the characters and the world and really invite readers to feel part of the world and the events that happen.
