Featured Interview With Lacreisha Jackson
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in many different areas. But the place I call home is Grambling Louisana. I was raised in a small town. Where everyone knew each other. I am big on community and making it a better place. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was about 18. I realized that I would rather read books than go out and have fun. Reading a book opened up my life to a new world and new experience. Also, I started writing when I was in elementary. I would write poems starting off and my writing style started to evolve into music, books, and other styles.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is Dave Ramsey. My favorite genre to read is inspirational and financial literacy. The people that inspire me to write are my sister, mom, and my grandma. Before my grandma passed away. She really pushed me to be myself and express all of my feelings. I did that by writing. She was that extra motivation to get me to that starting point.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book took me 7 years to write it. The reason it took so long is I was working through my healing process. This book was birthed to let people know that their past does not define them. I went through so much from mental health, abuse, and trauma. That later had an impact on my life. But I made a decision that I was going to become a whole person. Through this, I went to counseling, got a support system, and got closer to God. So if you need to be healed, inspired or motivated check out my book “Your Past Does Not Define You,”
