Featured Interview With Joy Rita
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Nairobi, Kenya, and I still live here today. Growing up in Nairobi has given me an appreciation for different people, different experiences and the everyday challenges that can shape the way we see life.
I’m a writer who enjoys turning everyday experiences and lessons into simple, useful ideas that people can actually apply. I’m especially interested in learning, personal growth, and practical ways of improving everyday life.
I enjoy reading, learning new things, and exploring ideas that can help people make better decisions and become more confident in their everyday lives. I don’t have any pets, but I enjoy the simple things in life and finding inspiration in the world around me.
Through my writing, I hope to give readers something practical, encouraging, and worthwhile to take away.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I became fascinated with books at a young age because I loved how they could take me into new worlds, introduce me to new ideas and teach me things I didn’t know. As I grew older, that love of reading gradually developed into an interest in writing. I began writing because I wanted to put my own thoughts and ideas into words and hopefully create something that could be useful to other people. Over time, writing became more than just a hobby for me—it became a way to share what I learn and connect with readers through practical and meaningful ideas.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy reading authors who make their ideas easy to understand while still giving the reader something meaningful to think about. My favorite genres are personal development, personal finance, inspirational books, and practical non-fiction.
I’m inspired by writers who use their experiences and knowledge to help ordinary people grow, learn, and make better decisions. I’m also inspired by everyday people who keep working toward a better life despite challenges. That is the kind of reader I think about when I write—I want my words to be useful, encouraging and easy to connect with.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, "Financial Freedom for Beginners" is written for people who want to understand money without feeling overwhelmed by complicated financial terms.
The book takes a simple, practical approach to important money basics, including budgeting, saving, managing expenses, setting financial goals and developing healthier money habits. Instead of promising overnight wealth, it encourages readers to start with the fundamentals and make small, realistic changes that can lead to better financial decisions over time.
I wanted to write a book that someone could pick up and honestly say, “This finally makes sense.” Whether you are just starting to manage your money or simply want to improve the way you handle your finances, the book offers practical guidance that can help you take the next step.
