Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a Brooklyn‑raised horror writer who mixes psychological tension with the haunting beauty of Korean and Japanese horror. My stories twist the familiar into slow‑burning nightmares inspired by folklore, urban legends, and the quiet dread of everyday life. I recently released my newly revised book, Floor Ten, and I’m already deep into ten more projects I plan to publish.
I reside in Brooklyn, New York, and I live with my three adorable cats.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
It all started with Stephen King and R.L. Stine. I read Stephen King's "The Shining" and one of R.L. Stine's Fear Street Saga books when I was eight. At the same age, during a school assignment, the other kids wrote fairy tales, but I went for horror. My teacher was stunned by my story, "Judas." He said it was “too scary” and couldn’t publish it in the school’s weekly newsletter. Still, he encouraged me to keep writing stories like that. That moment lit the spark for my lifelong love of storytelling. I never stopped writing since. Now, at the age of 46, I decided to self-publish.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors include Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Boris Bacic, Junji Ito, and many others. I’m especially drawn to horror, thriller, and crime genres. The creative imagination and talent of Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Boris Bacic, and Junji Ito inspire me greatly in my own writing.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Floor Ten is a slow-burning supernatural horror novel inspired by a Korean urban legend. The story first took shape years ago after I encountered a chilling camera‑tape retelling of the legend. That moment stayed with me, and eventually I realized it needed to become a book, something atmospheric, psychological, and unsettling in all the right ways.
Here is a brief book summary of my book details: In Seoul stands a gray, ten-story apartment building that most people overlook, but not its residents. University student Eunji has long ignored the building’s odd quirks: flickering hallway lights, an elevator that moves without being called, and the uneasy hush after any mention of the tenth floor. Then the dreams start. Not just for Eunji, but for her three closest friends too. The same numbers. The same dim hallways. The same sense that something waits just out of sight. When a cryptic warning appears beside the elevator, and an old urban legend returns, the four friends are pulled into the Elevator Game—a sequence of button presses said to open a path to somewhere that shouldn’t exist. But some doors are already open.
As the building begins to change, Eunji and her friends discover signs that something has been watching from the tenth floor for decades. And the deeper they dig for answers, the more the building seems intent on keeping them. Some floors aren’t meant to be reached. Some buildings never forget.
