Featured Interview With Brandy Withey
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Jersey Shore Pennsylvania; there is not a shore there unless you go to the river. Now I live in Williamsport Pennsylvania; home to the Little League World Series. I have two cats. Lucy and Luna
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always kept journals. I would joke even at a young age that I am going to write a book. it was just that, a joke. I didn’t even enjoy reading until I was in my early 20’s. I have continued to write in journals even to this day. I think that helped me through the writing process more quickly.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I really do not have any favorite authors or genre. I pick up books and if that back cover sparks something in the moment I will read it. All of the people I write about in my recovery portion inspire me on a daily basis.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I never expected to survive my addiction – and certainly not never expected to find a life worth living for. I talk about where I came from. The struggles and traumas, and the degradation. I was put through a lot and I also put others through a lot. I speak without a filter in this memoir. I share with the reader where addiction took me and how I got out of the active addiction. I have a clean date of 7/21/18. That is the most important day of my life. I tell my recovery side and how I get through each day. How I get to the other side of people dying, car accidents, and pain of all sorts.
