Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Redding, but my family moved to Texas in 1984, and Texas has been home ever since. Over the years, I’ve built my life around faith, family, writing, and encouraging others through some of life’s hardest seasons.
I’m an author, speaker, songwriter, and creator behind [Empowering Souls with Angela](https://www.youtube.com/@empoweringsoulswithangela?utm_source=chatgpt.com), where I share messages about grief, healing, hope, and the ways God carries us through heartbreak. Much of my work has been inspired by the loss of my only son, Logan, and the journey of faith that followed.
And yes — I absolutely have a pet. I have a Bullmastiff named Mr. Thor, and he is definitely the king of the house. Anyone who has a giant dog knows they quickly become convinced the entire home belongs to them, and honestly… we just end up accepting it.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Honestly, I’ve never really been a huge reader. I’ve always been more of a storyteller than someone who could sit for hours reading stacks of books. I usually joke that if I sit still long enough with a book, I might end up taking a nap.
My journey into writing actually started later in life. About two years ago, I wrote my first book, *Rising From The Abyss – Unveiling God’s Plan*. That book marked the beginning of a completely new chapter for me creatively and spiritually.
I didn’t become a writer because I had always dreamed of publishing books. I became a writer because I had experiences, emotions, faith, and life lessons that I felt deeply called to share. Writing became a way for me to process life, encourage others, and turn pain into purpose.
Since then, writing has become much more than just creating books for me. It has become part of my healing journey and part of the mission God placed on my heart to help people feel less alone in their struggles.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m probably a little different from most authors because I’m honestly not a huge reader. I tend to connect more through life experiences, conversations, music, faith, and personal reflection than through constantly reading books.
That said, I do enjoy inspirational and faith-based books, especially ones that encourage people through difficult seasons of life. I’ve read books by Joel Osteen and have also spent time reading Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. I’m drawn to messages centered around hope, healing, perseverance, emotional strength, and trusting God through hardship.
If I had to choose a favorite genre, it would definitely be inspirational nonfiction, faith-based encouragement, and real-life stories of overcoming adversity. I love stories that make people feel seen, uplifted, and reminded that they can survive difficult seasons.
As far as inspiration for my own writing, the greatest influence is honestly my life itself — especially my journey through grief after losing my son, Logan. My faith, prayer life, worship music, and the experiences God has brought me through inspire almost everything I write. I don’t write from a place of theory. I write from lived experience, raw emotion, and the hope that my words might help someone else keep going.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is titled *God’s Miracle Healing: A Mother’s Journey of Loss, Grief, and Healing – A True Story*. It is the most personal and emotionally raw thing I have ever written.
The book shares the true story of my only son, Logan, his seven days in the ICU, and the heartbreaking journey of losing him in September 2024. But beyond the grief itself, the book also explores the powerful moments of faith, hope, and what I believe were miracles that happened during that time.
Throughout those seven days, my family experienced moments that deeply impacted our faith — unexplained peace, spiritual encounters, signs, and moments where God’s presence felt undeniable in the middle of unimaginable pain. I wanted readers to understand that even in our darkest moments, we are not abandoned.
This is not just a story about loss. It is a story about love that continues, faith that survives heartbreak, and learning how to carry grief while still finding purpose and hope again. I wrote it for grieving parents, people walking through trauma, and anyone who has ever wondered how to keep going after life changes forever.
More than anything, I hope readers walk away from the book feeling understood, encouraged, and reminded that healing does not mean forgetting the people we love.
