Creatine: Myths & Facts by Sven Lederer

Creatine: Myths & Facts by Sven Lederer

Does creatine wreck your kidneys? Cause hair loss? Do you need a loading phase, a cycling phase, and a chemistry degree to use it correctly? After 20+ years in the supplement industry, I’ve heard every one of these — usually stated with total confidence, usually wrong.
Creatine: Myths & Facts takes 55 of the most common creatine claims and runs each one past the actual research. No hype. No fear-mongering. No bro at the gym who “read something once.”
Here’s the irony: creatine is one of the most studied supplements on the planet, with one of the strongest safety records in all of nutrition science — and it’s still buried under marketing noise and recycled locker-room folklore. This book digs it back out.
Each myth gets the same treatment: what people believe, what the evidence actually says, and what it means for you — whether you’re a beginner, a competitive athlete, a woman, over 50, or just tired of guessing.
55 myths. Real studies. Plain language. Decide for yourself.
Part of the PowerFacts24 Creatine Series — clear, evidence-based guides including dedicated volumes for women, for beginners, and the latest research update.

Author Bio:

Sven Lederer spent more than 20 years in the supplement retail business — long enough to watch the same myths get recycled every few years with a new label slapped on. Based in Vienna, Austria, he now writes evidence-based guides under the PowerFacts24 label, with one stubborn goal: separate what the research says from what the marketing wants you to believe. When he’s not knee-deep in study citations, he’s training for Hyrox — because it’s easy to write about performance and a lot harder to actually do the work.
