Jerome Samuels was a well-known and highly respected muralist. Before he hit the big time and switched mediums, he was a tattoo artist with a rumored secret or two. His untimely death has triggered a race to find his former ink work and unlock the alleged clues they hold.
Samuels’s two shiftless sons, Paske and Ben-Moon, believe the tattoos are the key to the proverbial pot of gold. They feel betrayed, abandoned and would love to break the code allegedly hidden in them and stick it to the old man posthumously.
Jonah Bahena, on the other hand, believes the tattoos stand between him and his long-awaited political aspirations. Although he looks good on paper, he’s no saint and will do whatever it takes to find and destroy them—and whoever gets in his way.
In their quest for wealth and/or fame, the two sides inadvertently cross paths with The Butcher, a serial killer with a point to make who has terrorized the residents of Westchester County for several weeks.
As events unfold, Detective Sergeant Hamilcar “Ham” Hitchcock and his general assignment squad—down two members following an unexpected shooting—doubles downs and attempts to meet the latest challenge head on. A promising lead eventually emerges. But, will it be enough to save the day?
