Two guests at a fishing lodge in Lake County Minnesota have been brutally murdered. Dave Trask, newly elected sheriff of Lake County, has been sworn in early to investigate. Trask soon discovers lodge owners saying the murders are the work of other lodge owners intent on ruining their business while others point to a lingering tension between Native Americans and the lodge owners and their guests. With an inexperienced staff, more murders, and mounting pressure from politicians trying to save the vital tourism business, Trask must stop the killing before the killer turns his sights on the sheriff.
This is the first book in the Trask Brothers murder mystery series.
