About The Sinai Artifact by Howard Gleichnhaus

The murder of the Dimitri Kastianich antiquities curator at the Smithsonian Institution brings FBI agent, Ted Lansing to the prestigious Washington museum. Newly transferred to the FBIs DC office, and remarried to his ex-wife, Assistant FBI Director Felicia Albreda, Lansing again steps into an all-consuming case that takes him from the comforts of his new life to the barren, mountainous terrain of the Sinai Peninsula, in search of the killer and an elusive piece of granite, The Sinai Artifact.

The curator’s death and subsequent recovery of the priceless artifact becomes a race across the globe to the Vatican and ultimately to the Middle East, all with deadly consequences. What t secret does it hold and how many innocent victims will die in search of the most important archeological discovery of all time? Or is the odd shaped stone something else entirely?

From Lansing’s initial discovery that his prime suspect in the murder is not who she first appeared to be, to a cast of conspiratorial characters, including an sociopathic ex-East German Stasi agent named Hans Richter now working for Russia’s clandestine service, the global chase takes on a chain of unpredictable twists and turns when Richter, engineers the murder of an elderly Vatican priest who comes too close to the artifact’s true secret, only the start of Richter’s murderous quest of the artifact.

Roadblocks to Richter’s pursuit of the artifact and Lansing’s progress in uncovering the secret is thwarted by a formidable adversary of Richter, a linguist, and expert in biblical languages, one-time Russian operative, Irina Kazakov. But which side is she working for?

Agents from Mossad along with Lansing are caught up in the conspiracy dating to the 1967 Six Day War between Israel and her Arab neighbors.

What are the Russian’s hiding, keeping from the world, and why has the Catholic Church become interested in recovering the odd shaped stone now lost somewhere in the desert near Sinai, The Mountain of God and the centuries old monastery of Santa Katerina Hans Richter, to the ancient monastery of Santa Katerina at the foot of Jebel Musa, Sinai’s Arab name.
