I write under the pen name of Rand Law and I have dedicated my life to training and writing about the martial arts. My quest is to capture the adventure and the transcendental nature of this pursuit in my stories. I believe that these tales reveal insights to some of the hidden elements of being human and also to the paradox of martial art study. I primarily utilize a Lee Stanislavsky like system with my writing. My fictional stories are a bit of a mélange of adventure, and science fiction; with an essence of mystic experiences as a core element in all of my Dream Walker book series.
My background in writing started first as a reader, which I began before kindergarten. By sixth grade I was writing stories that my homeroom teacher read to my classmates as a reward for completing assignments. This recognition from teachers continued on as I went on to other schools as well. Likewise, my martial arts instruction began around the sixth grade.
I am a son of retired Christian ministers, and the eldest of their five children. My wife and I have two children which we home schooled. They both graduated college with multiple degrees and summa cum laude. I have worked in law enforcement, personal protection, business management, charity fundraising, farm labor, construction and as a paper boy primarily in reverse order but not exclusively so.
