in Traveling mode is the travelogue of a journey around the world. The author takes you on an honest journey, sharing real moments and feelings, sometimes relating them to his own life. He shares how some places and situations had an impact on him, making this journey personal. Paulo attempts to take the reader with him, making his stories everybody’s stories.
The trips have different styles, from solo to small group tours and overlanding, with a clear impact on the stories and his mood.
Throughout the book, the reader will find the concept of the Traveling Spirit and what it means to the author. Another concept shown in the book is the lightness of the continuous travel decision-making process, as compared to the typical heavier decision making of everyday life. This is what the debatable concept of the unbearable lightness is about.
The book is not about detailed instructions on how to get to exotic locations or long descriptions of visited places, although some stories attempt to show the reader what it’s like to be where the author is. Paulo loves the journey but still tries to locate the reader in every story.
For those who enjoy traveling, in Traveling mode is one person’s perspective of a world journey and the circumstantial situations that arise when being free on the road.
Sit back, get in Traveling mode and follow Paulo on his unbearable lightness of a journey around the world.
