Featured Interview With Tiffany Dingley
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Rhode Island and raised in Florida, where I live now with my family. I currently have a pet dog named Boo; he’s a Pekingese and Poodle mix. He can be a little crazy sometimes but is absolutely adorable.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
From the time that I could read, I was obsessed with it. I have always been the type to check out four or five books and finish them in a week. In doing so, I learned a lot about not only book structure but the world around me in general. I wrote short stories and poems even as a little girl, which turned into lengthier and more detailed works and I’ve grown.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Aligning with my varied interests, I enjoy several different genres, and what I read often depends on my mood. There’s a good chance I’ll always have some murder mystery or science fiction novel around. Alongside this, I always enjoy heavily researched books having to do with health and the human brain. Psychology has always fascinated me. The only other big topic that I can think of off the top of my head is minimalism. I really resonate with this concept, and read about it often; seeing different perspectives and applications of a simplistic lifestyle always has me engrossed. To sum all of these things up, I will pick up anything that could possibly expand my perspective. Some authors I particularly enjoy are Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ryan Nicodemus, and Joshua Fields Millburn.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My first and latest book is titled Engage, Enlighten, Evolve and was inspired by an extremely long car ride… Over the last summer I went on a trip with my family that involved a 24 hour car ride, which pretty much eliminates any distractions that were preventing me from actually embarking on the long term goal of writing a book. I had always wanted to pull my thoughts together and put them out there but never seemed to find the right scenario. Once I started though, I kept working and editing for months.
