Featured Interview With Savio Dawson
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Thanks for having me here. I am Savio, the author of Spirit Raiders. I am a resident of Mumbai, India, and writing happens to be one of my hobbies. Being a hobby it comes rather naturally and something I have fun doing. My dad, wife, and daughter are the ones filling my home with lots of love, joy, and laughter. In fact, my wife was the only one who knew about my book, initially. Everyone else came to know about it a lot later. I also have a day job back in India, which brings forth its own set of fun and excitement. So, that’s about me.
I don’t have any pets; however, my grandfather had dogs like a German shepherd, Labrador, and other breeds, which I used to play a lot with during my childhood. That was fun.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was quite a passive reader early on and that meant that I would read only what was given to me for reading. However, I guess it was after the ninth grade where I started to have this fascination with books, especially, nature books and therefore, spent a good time in the school library. That sure was the beginning.
I started writing about a decade back, initially articles, company newsletters, later on, blogs and then the ultimate – novels (smiles).
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite authors to read are Esther and Jerry Hicks, Helen Schucman and likes. Although, I am a sci-fi author, people are usually baffled when I tell them that my author following is of a different genre. So, if you ask me the genre I read, it obviously is the self-help and spiritual ones.
There are a lot of episodes and author styles which inspire a person and I cannot deny that, however, by naming a few, I would be doing injustice to the many others whom I liked and followed. My style of writing is quite simple and easy sentence construct, in that sense, at least, I belong to a league of many other writers.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Spirit Raiders is my latest book and it took some time to put the story line together. Now, that it is up, I am quite happy with what has been created.
The book revolves around a series of abduction that Mark experiences at the hands of two different sets of extra-terrestrials. This apparent interest in Mark and the accidental discovery of some alien vessels around Earth’s periphery sets a number of government and private agencies in motion. The bone-chilling truth that is uncovered and the action thereafter is what the book is all about.
