Featured Interview With Roy Redd
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Gardena the neighboring city to compton in california. I am a child of two police officers raised during a rough time period. Eventually my parents were able to move us away from a urban area to a nice area. Now I live in the inland empire in riverside ca by myself.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I had an experience where I was broke, depressed and emberrased. My car broke down and I didnt have the money to fix it. I was fired from my job and I was late on rent. I went home and found out the girl I was with had cheated on me. I was sitting on the floor I began to pray and I decided to google success. I found a man named Jim Rohn and he talked about the importance of reading an hour a day and from there that’s all she wrote. Now I read a book a week and I love, love, love to read.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read the bible daily and I love to read the bible now that I know that it’s not written for everybody to agree with its aspects. I think it was written for each individual to get what they get from it. I also love to read zen books, and buddhist books. Authors I love are Jim Rohn, Stephen Covey, Brendon Burchard etc. The book that changed my life though was Steven Pressfield, The War of Art. That book empowered me to sit my ass down and write this book I wrote today.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The Success magnet is simply a book that goes to war with social paradigms on what success is. It angers me to see people perpetuate an idea of success having to do with some money crazed lifestyle. I write this book so that people can build their own personal ideal of success, which is practical for everybody.
