Featured Interview With Nathan Wall
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m from Texas and I live in the DFW metroplex. I spent my formative years in Europe. It’s given me a unique perspective and helped instill a deeper appreciation for my home.
I’m married. Have two kids. Somehow my 7 year old daughter is closer to being a senior in high school than I am by rewinding my life. That seems strange. I still have dreams that I’m in school. Doesn’t feel like it should be 12 years in the past, yet it is.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started really writing in high school. I’d write stories on dares. I’d use my friends as characters and kill them off in messed up ways. There was a running bet as to who would live the longest. It ended up being the shy, never talk to anyone kid.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Robert Frost changed my writing the most. After taking a poetry class at TCU, I saw prose differently.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Artificial Light deals with the aftermath of coinciding events in Evolution of Angels and The Descendants. A new figure has thrown the galactic truce off balance and his presence threatens to bring the millennia of peace to an end. Assassins from Heaven look to take him out while the remnants of the old Corners weigh the options of future war, brittle alliances, and abstaining from conflict.
Sometimes you risk becoming a villain in order to be the hero.
