Featured Interview With Jonathan Myers
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am Jonathan Myers independent author of The Unfinished Book Series. I was raised in a small town in Upstate NY called Duanesburg. I have always made my own path. I was kicked out of the house when I was sixteen years old. I have lived on my own ever since. I enlisted in the US Army in 1991. When I was Honorably Discharged I went to school to become a truck driver. In 2001 I married my beloved Diana. We settled down in a small town in Upstate NY called Schodack. We have lived there since 2002. Schodack is close to Albany NY that is a farming community. Diana and i have three small dogs and a cat. Two of the dogs we rescued and the other one was given to us. Our cat we rescued when it was left to survive on its own. Diana and i both work full time at our jobs. We live a simple life and always find away to spend as much time as we can with each other. Diana is by biggest fan when it comes to what I do. Especially when it come to my books. Matter of fact she is one of my characters in my books.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was 13 years old I was given an extra credit project in English. So I wrote a short story about a little boy and his dog. I got a B+ on it. Which pulled my grade up enough to pass English. In the process I discovered that I love to write. When I was 19 years old. I sent that short story to Random House. They sent it back to me with a letter which said. Please fix these errors. Then type the manuscript. Please send it back when your done. We do not accept hand written manuscripts. I took it as a rejection letter so I put the manuscript away. Years later I found out that it was not a rejection letter. Random House must thought it was good. They don’t send manuscripts back. They throw them away when they don’t like it. In the process of life and moving around I have lost that manuscript. My love for books came at an early age since we had no TV. We had a large library in out house so I read a lot.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
