Featured Interview With J. Hale Turner
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in New York. Later, I relocated to beautiful North Carolina where I happily remain with my family and delightful dogs, Rikki and Princess.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As children, we learned to read before attending school. Throughout school I was noted for my compositions. During sixth grade, I became an avid reader of history and fiction, which opened the door of many happy years of literary indulgence.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love suspense and mystery novels. Favorite authors are whose books I’m consuming. They include Estelle Ryan, Jeffery Deavers, Abigail Keam, and numerous others. For romance, I currently enjoy Jacquelin Thomas, Jennifer Joy, Marian L. Thomas.
I have delightful fellow writers who have always been my inspiration—Jacquelin Thomas, Maxine Billings. I must include my writing coach, Mary Yamin- Garone, who kept me focused after returning from a lengthy hiatus.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Paradise Dreams focuses on the lives of two strangers—Melanie Harris, renowned author, and Kendall Myers, wealthy owner of White Sands Villas in Ocho Rios, Jamaica— who had briefly met during an ATM heist.
Amid the ado of police and media, they were separated, regretting the idea never to see each other again.
Was their encounter proof there’s a possibility to love again, or was their special moment just a dream?
