Featured Interview With J.E.Grace
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Northern California, but moved to Missouri in 2000. I had a background in Retail/Property Management, but decided to switch careers to Real Estate. I continued in that field of work until 2013, when I retired to pursue my passion for art and writing.
I have been married for 28 years, have four grown daughters, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. I have a cat, Rascal, that lives up to his name. He keeps me entertained.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I would have to say that reading at a young age, and getting lost in the stories, inspired me to write. My favorite stories, were Nancy Drew Mysteries and Christian inspirational stories.
I started out writing poetry and then branched out into fiction when I was in my twenties. My mother, who also loves to write, was always there with words of encouragement.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors to read are William P. Young, Mitch Albom, Kristin Hannah, and James L. Robart. My favorite genre to read is Christian Inspirational Fiction.
Reading my favorite authors work has helped inspire me to keep writing. My faith in God inspires me to write inspiring stories immersed in hope and faith.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is Book 2 in my Pacific Cove Series, Testament of Faith. It’s the continuation of the Sanders family story. It takes place on a horse ranch in Northern California and is about a family with strong faith that endures a series of bad events and pulls through together with God’s help.
The idea came from a ranch I lived on in Northern California in the 60’s. I decided it would be a good backdrop for my story. The book took me about 6 months to complete. I originally had planned the Pacific Cove books to be one book, but realized I was actually writing two separate stories. They became Haunted Visions (mystery) and Testament of Faith (inspirational fiction).
