Featured Interview With Geoff Waugh
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in country towns in Australia and now live in a community house in Brisbane with two of my adult children and their families where I enjoy the freedom and proximity of the granny flat.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I enjoyed hearing my mother read to us every night when I was young and began reading children’s classics as soon as I could. I began writing articles and newsletters as a teenager and then in college I began publishing articles. After teaching overseas in the South Pacific I published books about my teaching subjects in ministry and mission. All those book were re-published independently and I began using independent publishing extensively as the founding editor of the Renewal Journal (www.renewaljournal.com).
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Christian novelists and devotional writers such as CS Lewis, Llyod Douglas, and Philip Yancey. These, and many others, inspire me to communicate creatively.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Discovering Aslan is a devotional commentary about Aslan in the stories of Narnia. It describes the background to the stories and the way the Lion of Judah is reflected in the stories of Aslan in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ by C. S. Lewis.
