Featured Interview With Faye Hall
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I write Australian Historical Romances, each filled with passion, deceit and murder.
I try to encompass much of my own families history into my books, as well as setting most of them in my home town in North Queensland, Australia.
I am happily married to my childhood sweetheart and soulmate and living in North Queensland with our children and pet geese.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have read from a young age. My parents encouraged my love of books even before I started school. I started writing poems and ditties whilst still at primary school. I got into writing novels when I was at high school.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Though I do love reading romances, I also enjoy Agatha Christie novels and the works of Arthur Conan Doyle. I have always enjoyed Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird too.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest release, Heart of Stone, is slightly different from my other books. The idea for that book came more from the unspoken history of blackbirding in our area of Australia. For those that don’t know, blackbirding was the title given to the slave trade in Australia’s past, mostly dealing with the islanders called Kanakas that were forcibly brought into the country. The main female character in the book is in fact an Irish slave, another scandalous past of Australian history.
