Featured Interview With Cendrine Marrouat
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hello everyone!
My name is Cendrine Marrouat and I live in Winnipeg, Canada. Originally from France, I moved here after spending six years at university. I have a bachelor’s degree in English-to-French translation.
I have been a French instructor for 14 years. I am also a writer and author, photographer, and social media coach / trainer. For a while, I dabbed into journalism, art criticism, and playwriting. I even recorded a spoken word CD.
I have three adorable pets.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always loved books. When I lived in France, I used to go to old and used book fairs just to touch and smell them. It was quite an experience!
My office is actually full of books. My dream is to have a library like the ones described in classical novels.
I cannot remember when I started writing. It has just always been part of my life.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
One author makes my heart skip a beat every time I read him — Khalil Gibran. All his books have had an impact on my life. “The Prophet” and “Jesus, the Son of Man” are the greatest books I have ever read.
Right now, my favorite genre is historical nonfiction. I love learning new facts.
As to what inspires me in my writing, I would say that it’s pretty much everything. A conversation with a friend, a scene, etc. The world is a great source of inspiration.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Life’s Little Things: The Quotes” is my 10th book. It pays homage to the world around us through photography and inspirational words. Each page is an invitation to reflect on the human condition and our never-ending connection to nature.
