Featured Interview With Bozena Zawisz
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My Name is Bozena, I am the author of “Liberating Inner Eve.” I was raised amongst the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Poland, where I left behind a piece of my heart, and now I live in the equally beloved NSW, Australia. Outside of my most challenging yet cherished role of being a mother, I also love my counseling work, playing the organ for my church community, and connecting with others via my Facebook page (anyone is welcome to join). There are endless things that inspire me, here’s just a few: the beauty of my faith, the wonder of fellow human beings, Polish food (especially pickles), and tea.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing in primary school, basically as soon as I was able to… My best friend at the time and I were two little poetesses, encouraging one another to write beautiful poems…
I was reading books for as long as I can remember, especially ones relating to the depth and wisdom of Christianity and psychology classics.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love authors who combine their knowledge of theology with insights from the fields of psychology and spirituality, like Scott Peck. I also love the wisdom of Saint John Paul II and Saint Faustina’s reflections.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Liberating Inner Eve” offers psychological insight around the impact of commonly found interpretations of the teachings of the Old Testament (in particular the Genesis account of Adam and Eve) and New Testament (the lifetime of Jesus), on various themes relevant to women’s daily lives, such as how they experience their identity, self-acceptance, and self-worth. Every chapter of this book includes simple exercises, encouraging readers to take time to review their thoughts and feelings, relating to a particular topic. Through Liberating Inner Eve you will learn how empowering the Bible can be in helping women find self-love, self-acceptance, and personal strength.
