Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My lifespan stretched across the beautiful rolling hills of southern Poland’s countryside where I spent childhood holidays, smog covered balcony and the bustle of an industrial mining town Katowice, the tropical humid Queensland, and my current hometown Sydney.
As far back as I remember I cherished the feeling of closeness and connection with people and had a good friend on hand to reflect with, write with, or sing with. It is not surprising I decided on a counseling career while indulging in writing on the side, as an outlet for personal reflections.
My particular interest was in helping women feel valued and find their own source of strength and connection with themselves while raising awareness about so many ways in which they still continue to find themselves at a disadvantage. I put this within a Christian context and my new release “Liberating Inner Eve” was born.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I am sure that I could qualify for the title of the world’s greatest bookworm. While I was studying and working full-time, I spent all of my free time reading about the psychology of self and delving into the mysteries of the Christian faith. This was a priority for me at the time, I longed to understand as much as possible about human behavior, coping, physiology, and spirituality, so that I could optimally serve clients within my counseling role. Later in life it was more important for me to introspect within myself and learn from my clients, from the patterns I was seeing and from what worked in my responding to them. I wanted to express all this in writing. However, I loved the art of writing and beautiful stationary and calligraphy instruments from a very young age.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite fiction authors include Kate Chopin and Philipa Gregory, I also enjoy English writers from the 18th and 19th Centuries. I love authors who offer deep reflections and are creative in how they present them. I enjoy reading works by Scott Peck or Gary Chapman, I love Christian authors who offer psychological insight.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Liberating Inner Eve came about as a result of my concern about seeing so many female clients who valued themselves in a limited way and seeing so many subtle ways in which they experienced a lack of equal privileges. In “Liberating Inner Eve” I address many themes/expectations/beliefs that I commonly come across that contribute to this, on many levels including historical, social, or interpersonal. I combine Christian and psychological insights to help readers nourish an ever deeper experience of self-love and personal strength.
